Highlights
Astegon is arguably one of the best mining and combat Pals in the game, thanks to its active skills and Mining level 4 suitability along with its Black Ankylosaur partner skill.
You need to be in the end-game stage to capture this Dark and Dragon-elemental Pal as it is only found in the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary.
Players will also find the Astegon Alpha Pal inside the Destroyed Mineshaft located west of Mount Obsidian Midpoint.

Palworld’s diverse array of Pals breathes life into the various realms of the Palpagos Islands. Each creature boasts its unique set of skills and powers that make it ideal for various use cases worldwide. While most Pals can carry out menial tasks around your base, only a select few are versatile enough to showcase their combat prowess, traversal skills, and suitabilities. One notable example is the Dark and Dragon-elemental Astegon which is one of the most potent Pals for both combat and excavation. Without further ado, let’s delve into its spawn location, its item drops, breeding combos, and more.

Where Is Astegon’s Habitat in Palworld?

Thankfully, locating Astegon in Palworld is fairly easy as it is only found in one region on the map. You can capture or defeat this Pal both during the day and night from the No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary on the Northernmost tip of the map. However, getting there would be quite the challenge considering that it is an endgame location filled with high-tier Pals and several PIDF soldiers patrolling its surroundings.

To make things easier, we recommend you use a Flying Mount such as Nitewing, or Faleris to get past the perimeter and into the sanctuary. Apart, from this, you must also carry an Ice or Dragon-type Pal such as Relaxaurus, Frostallion Noct, etc as Astegon is weak against those elements. Furthermore, you will also find a level 48 Ravager of Stars Astegon Boss inside the Destroyed Mineshaft (-576, -421) dungeon in the volcanic region of Mount Obsidian. Taking down this Alpha Pal will require Heat-resistant Armor and the best weapons from your arsenal as it is an end-game boss.

Once you capture Astegon from the wild, you can now access its Black Ankylosaur partner skill that improves your mining efficiency while you are riding it. However, you need to build an Astegon Saddle using the following materials to use this Flying Mount:

  • X30 Leather

  • X50 Ingot

  • X55 Paldium Fragments

  • X50 Refined Ingot

You also unlock its active combat skills such as:

  • Dark Laser: Blasts enemies with a powerful charged beam dishing out massive damage.

  • Nightmare Ball: Hurls a giant ball of darkness at your enemies

  • Draconic Breath: Deals continuous damage to its enemies using its draconic power-infused breath.
