The first season of Arcane was released in November 2021 on Netflix and has gone on to become one of the most successful shows on the platform.
Here is everything we know so far about Arcane Season 2 including its potential release date, story, and cast.

Arcane Season 2 is all set to release for a winter release next year, Q4 2024, with heavy speculations that it might arrive in the month of November.

The first season of the show was released in November 2021, three years is a long time to wait between two seasons, but if the show is a massive hit with a large fanbase, news about its return is enough to cause a storm across social media.

The announcement about Arcane's Season 2 was reportedly made at the Video V Vision Conference that was hosted by Tencent, which is the parent company of Riot Games.

Arcane Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Here are details about the show's release date for its second season, expected story, and information about the cast. This will provide you with a solid understanding of what to expect from Arcane Season 2 and bring you up to speed with everything that's been happening.

Arcane Season 2: Release Date

Riot Games had confirmed that Arcane Season 2 was in production a long time back, but since then there has been radio silence about the hit animated series which features on Netflix.

With little to no news about it, Tencent dropped a surprise yesterday by announcing that Arcane Season 2 would be coming out in Q4 2024 and now no one can stop talking about it.

The record-breaking show for Netflix, which became the top-rated series on the platform within a week of its release, is speculated to make a come back in November 2024.

While this has not been confirmed, if true, it seems to coincide with the release of the first season, while also conveniently aligning with the 15th anniversary of League of Legends, the popular game on which the show is based on.

Most might think that a three-year break between two seasons for a show that was such a massive hit might be a deal breaker, but the production time has actually been halved in comparison to the six years it took to create the first season.

Arcane Season 2 Announcement

Arcane Season 2: Story

Arcane serves as a compelling prequel to the popular game League of Legends, which explores the lives of two iconic champions, Vi and Jinx. Set against the backdrop of a city in turmoil, the story unfolds in the stark contrast between the affluent and utopian Piltover and the gritty, oppressed underbelly of Zaun.

As the rift between these two worlds widens, driven by the emergence of the magical Hextech in Piltover and the dangerous drug known as shimmer in Zaun, the once inseparable sisters find themselves on opposing sides.

Vi forms an unlikely alliance with the law enforcement officer Caitlyn in Piltover, while Jinx remains under the sway of Zaun's formidable crime lord, Silco.

The first season of the show has been acclaimed as an exceptional addition to the world of video game adaptations, achieving the remarkable feat of becoming the first streaming series ever to earn the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program and sweeping the Annie Awards.

As for the story of Arcane Season 2, it will likely continue where it left off with an introduction of new characters, but not a lot about it can be confirmed at this point in time with no official trailers or announcements having been made by Riot Games.

Arcane Season 2: Cast

The cast of Arcane was hailed for their brilliant work in the first season of the show and the main stars will also likely return for the second season.

  • Hailee Steinfeld as Vi

  • Ella Purnell as Jinx

  • Katie Leung as Caitlyn

Apart from them, Jason Spisak could also be seen returning as Silco, as he confirmed having recorded some lines for Arcane Season 2. This is likely to be in the form of flashbacks when the story from the past of certain characters is being narrated.
