Nitr0 Departs 100 Thieves Valorant Roster Amid CS:GO Return Rumors
The return might be closer to reality!
North American esports athlete, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, parted ways with the 100 Thieves Valorant team earlier today on 8th December 2021, amidst heavy speculations and multiple reports pointing towards his possible return to CS:GO.
Since early November, nitr0 has been linked to a move back to competitive CS:GO, most likely to join Team Liquid which will be undergoing a roster overhaul ahead of the 2022 season.
The 26-year-old had announced his retirement from CS:GO in August 2020 to join 100 Thieves and compete in Valorant. Despite the organization winning First Strike North America in 2020, they had an overall disappointing run this year, which has forced them to make a few roster changes.
Nitr0's CS:GO return rumors ramp up after departure from 100 Thieves Valorant roster
A name synonymous with Team Liquid, nitr0, had switched over to Valorant in August last year and has been reportedly considering a move back to CS:GO again after more than 15 months. This move now seems closer to reality and more likelier than ever as the 100 Thieves Valorant team has parted ways with him.
As much of a shock as it was for the entire CS:GO community to see their very own 'Captain America' switch to Valorant, they never hated the man for making this move. Now, with a possible return closer than ever the community is rallying in support of this decision hoping that it turns out to be true.
Nitr0 in the last few months has been spotted playing and streaming CS:GO on FACEIT alongside Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, Däuren "AdreN" Qystaubaev, and many other players.
Team Liquid and EliGE have very transparently expressed that the current roster will be undergoing a change before the 2022 competitive season. For now, Keith "NAF" Markovic is the only player that has been officially confirmed as a member of the future Liquid lineup, with EliGE, Richard "shox" Papillon, Josh "oSee" Ohm, and nitr0 himself being the other reported members.
100 Thieves thanked nitr0 for lifting them to championship heights and creating a winning culture within the team. As for the player himself, he hasn't commented on his future so far, but has simply stated "More on my future soon!"
