NAF Re-Signs With Team Liquid, First Confirmed Player for 2022 CS:GO Lineup
How good does it feel to still be a Naffer?!
There was a lot of mystery surrounding the future of one particular Team Liquid player, Keith "NAF" Markovic, but all the speculations have been laid to rest as the Canadian rifler has extended his contract with Liquid until 2024.
Just a couple of days back during an interview at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2021, NAF when talking about his next step had said that "My position to the public is somewhat of a mystery that has yet to be revealed. I guess, I got to leave it there."
But yesterday on 28th November, the 24-year-old surprised everyone by announcing that he was remaining with Team Liquid for the next two years. The announcement follows an incredible performance by him against Ninjas in Pyjamas at Fall Finals, where he had a huge impact on each map.
NAF extends contract with Team Liquid until 2024
Multiple reports pointed towards Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski slated as the CS:GO player which was to most likely stick with Team Liquid going into 2022. But in a turn of events, it is in fact NAF who has been re-signed by the organization.
This makes him the first official player that has been confirmed by Liquid for their 2022 CS:GO lineup, which is set to undergo a major overhaul over the course of the next few months.
NAF was initially signed by Liquid in February 2018 and has been an integral part of the team ever since. During his current journey of over three years with the team, NAF contributed to Liquid's impressive run in 2019 when they managed to win the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 in a record 63 days.
First Win: IEM Sydney 2019
Second Win: DH Masters Dallas
Third Win: ESL Pro League Season 9
Fourth Win: ESL One Cologne 2019
Other CS:GO players likely to join him on Team Liqiud as per reports are as follows,
Veteran French CS:GO player Richard "shox" Papillon who is reportedly in advanced talks with Liquid.
Brazilian rifler Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo who is officially not a part of FURIA's plans for 2022, while also being linked with a move to Liquid.
North American Counter-Strike's very own 'Captain America', Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, is also reportedly set to return to Liquid and compete in CS:GO after having played Valorant professionally for a little over a year.
The last player to round out the roster could most likely be EliGE, as he has not been linked to a move away from Liquid. He is the senior most player on the lineup, having competed with the team for more than six years.
Though it is still early on to confidently sum up Team Liquid's CS:GO lineup going into 2022, multiple reports seem to be linking them with the North American organization.
