Nitr0 Reportedly Considering a Move Back to CS:GO, Likely to Team Liquid
Captain America might return to CS:GO.
Former professional CS:GO player, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, who currently plays Valorant with 100 Thieves seems to be considering a move back to the Valve shooter. The 26-year-old had retired from CS:GO in August 2020 just two weeks after he was benched by Team Liquid, switching over to Valorant where he had been signed by 100 Thieves.
Now, almost 15 months later nitr0 is pondering over a potential move back to CS:GO with Team Liquid being the organization that he likely moves to, according to a report by Upcomer.
With separate reports pointing towards Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's departure from Liquid to form a Brazilian superteam alongside former SK Gaming teammates, and Jacky "Stewie2K" Yip being contacted by a prominent unnamed organization directly, the former in-game leader (IGL) making a return to Liquid could be a possibility.
Nitr0 reportedly pondering over a potential move back to CS:GO
As much of a shock as it was for the entire CS:GO community to see their very own 'Captain America' switch to Valorant, they never hated the man for making this move. And now that nitr0 is reportedly considering a move back to CS:GO after more than a year away from the game, the community is rallying in support of this decision hoping that it turns out to be true.
While the report states that 100 Thieves is looking to make "several internal changes" to its Valorant roster during the offseason, nitr0's future is still unclear as he remains undecided on a return to CS:GO or continuation of his career in Valorant.
Team Liquid is reportedly being named as the potential front runner for nitr0's home if he returns to CS:GO again. Something which has been backed by other sources as well, that further state that no serious discussions have taken place between the two organizations.
With the report about Stewie2K being approached by another organization and FalleN being linked to a move back to Brazil, Team Liquid might have some slots to fill before kicking off their 2022 competitive season.
Evil Geniuses is another North American esports organization that are looking to rebuild its CS:GO roster. They have already benched three players and an experienced IGL is something that they would eagerly be seeking.
Cloud9 has also been teasing a return to CS:GO for quite some time now following the disastrous fail of its Colossus project, with someone like nitr0 to lead this rebuild they might have a chance to make their dream comeback.
Even nitr0 seems to have some time on his hands as 100 Thieves failed to qualify for Valorant Champions 2021 through the VCT 2021: North America Last Chance Qualifier, dropping consecutive matches to Rise and Cloud9 Blue.
