Stewie2K Reportedly Approached by Another Org, Liquid Denies Changes Until 2022
Team Liquid trying to maintain the same roster till the year's end.
North American esports organization Team Liquid is trying to maintain its CS:GO roster as it is till the end of the year. However, it seems that there may be a growing interest for Jacky "Stewie2K" Yip in the market, at least from one prominent organization whose identity remains unknown.
Not only this, the experienced Brazilian AWPer Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo who is also acting as the team's in-game leader has reportedly shown interest towards moving back to the Brazilian scene. Joining hands with his two-time Major winning partner Marcelo "coldzera" David, the two are supposedly looking for an organization to pick up their Brazilian lineup.
Amidst these reports, Team Liquid's manager - Steve “jokasteve” Perino has come forward to clarify that no changes are being made to their CS:GO roster until 2022, in a statement to Rush B Media.
We will 100% be finishing out the year with this roster and at the moment, no one is in or out. That said, we are exploring options to figure out how our team’s future looks like and will continue to do so to prepare for next year.Steve “jokasteve” Perino - Manager of Team Liquid
Stewie2K and FalleN reportedly evaluating options for roster change
Team Liquid did not have a great run at the recently concluded PGL Major Stockholm 2021. The team finished at the 12th-14th position and failed to make it through to the Champions Stage.
With CS:GO slowly returning to full-time LAN events, the North American region is rearing to get back into the action. This has led to some Team Liquid members reportedly evaluating their options.
Stewie2K seems to have been directly approached with an offer by an unnamed prominent esports organization. However, it seems that Team Liquid has not yet received any formal communication regarding this potential acquisition offer.
As for FalleN, the Brazilian seems to have been in talks with coldzera and together they are looking to form a complete Brazilian roster for the next competitive season. The two are actively looking for an organization to sign their Brazilian CS:GO super team, as per reports.
However, an important point to note is that any organization which is interested in signing Stewie2K or FalleN would have to communicate with Team Liquid to finalize the offer, as both players have contracts that reportedly extend till the end of 2022.
The North American CS:GO scene has already started to witness the initiation of a huge upcoming shuffle, with Evil Geniuses having removed three players from their active CS:GO roster, Michał "MICHU" Müller, Owen "oBo" Schlatter, and Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz. While Cloud9 has consistently teased a return to CS:GO sometime in the near future, after the massive collapse of their supposed colossus.
