Z4pnu Slams Dogie's Assumptions of Indonesian MLBB Teams Being the Strongest
Nexplay EVOS’ talent, Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio recently had a hot take regarding how Blacklist International’s Sibol lineup would have a slim chance at winning against the Indonesian (ID) team in the 31st SEA Games. Following this, he was met with a lot of criticism from the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community while others poked fun at his statement. During the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9 semi-finals pre-match interview, Omega Esports’ veteran pro player Billy "Z4pnu" Jazha Alfonso took a shot at Dogie’s statement by saying Indonesian MLBB teams aren’t as strong as he made them out to be.
Dogie is the only one who is afraid of Indonesian teams, says Z4pnu
The debate on which region, between the Philippines or Indonesia, has the strongest meta has been one of the most discussed topics in the MLBB community. Casters, pro players, and analysts alike have also begun sharing their insights regarding the topic.
The topic was once again discussed during the pre-match interview of the MPL PH Season 9 semi-finals match. According to the caster Santie "Santie" Magcalas, “For sure, our caliber is very different from other countries.”
Omega Esports’ EXP laner, Z4pnu echoed Santie’s statement by saying Dogie may be the only one who is afraid of facing Indonesian teams in MLBB esports. ”I don’t know why he’s [Dogie] afraid of Indo[nesian teams],” said the pro player.
Z4pnu added that his team has been doing scrim sessions with other Indonesian teams. He believes that Dogie is wrong when he said that Indonesian teams are the strongest teams in MLBB right now. “In fact, even amateur teams [in PH] are also beating the Indo[nesian teams].”
Z4pnu proudly stated that Indonesian teams are “No Match” for the Philippines teams, considering Omega Esports has been dominating its scrim sessions against them.
Santie echoed by saying “I think so too, the results say it all. Past MSC [Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2021] is ours, we are also the [M2 and M3]World Champions, they [ID teams] didn’t even reach the finals.”
The debate shall be settled in the upcoming 31st SEA Games and the MSC 2022. It will be interesting to see which region has the most dominant MLBB meta amongst all the participating regions.
