Wild Rift's newest champion, Akshan will also be debuting in this patch along with a Battle Academia skin.

The Sentinels of Light global event debuted in Wild Rift a few weeks ago with the release of champions, Lucian and Senna. Players can join the Sentinels to fight against Viego and the Black Mist. The upcoming patch 2.4 update will not only debut Wild Rift’s newest champion Akshan but also add a number of Sentinel and Ruination skins to the game. Akshan will be getting a Battle Academia skin on release into Wild Rift. Wild Rift patch 2.4 is expected to go live on 28th July at 8:01 am SGT.

Wild Rift Ruination Skins

The new patch update will add the following Sentinel and Ruination skins to the game:

Ruined Draven

Draven's Ruination skin is coming out in Wild Rift patch 2.4.

Ruined Miss Fortune

Miss Fortune is one of the few champions to get a Ruination themed skin.

Ruined Shyvana

Shyvana's dragon form in this skin is darker in color and breathes green fire.

Sentinel Irelia

This will be the second skin Irelia has received in Wild Rift.

Sentinel Riven

This is Riven's second skin in Wild Rift after Arcade Riven.

Sentinel Vayne

Sentinel Vayne sees the Night Hunter don a new hairstyle.

Players will also be able to purchase these new skins from the in-game store for Wild Cores when they launch on 27th July. Riot Games also released Issue 4 of Sentinels of Light: Steadfast Heart comic on 23rd July, 2021 as part of the Sentinels of Light event.

Patch 2.4 also marks the beginning of Wild Rift ranked season 3, new in-game items and the debut of Glorious Lulu. Wild Rift game designer, Josh “Nextdoor” Menke, explained that the ranked system would also be tweaked. Promotions proved too much for players which resulted in some players giving up on climbing the rank ladder. Removing promotion matches in Wild Rift ranked games will incentivize players to continue playing without having to worry about demotions and having to do promotion matches again. The number of bans per match would also be reduced from five to three.

The update will also add Akshan, the first champion in League of Legends with the ability to bring back teammates from the dead. Check out his ability preview below:
