Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is a battle royale game designed specifically for the Indian region. Its impressive graphics, features and easy to learn controls are one of the main reasons it has gained popularity among the youth. The game has brought forth many esports athletes and content creators a great deal of renown.
Amongst these personalities, Naman “Mortal” Mathur is one of the veterans in the BGMI community. He is the owner of Team Soul and has also been an esports athlete for the same. He has won multiple titles in the past and has also represented India on the global stage. Having his fair share of experience, in a recent live stream, he talked about hackers in BGMI and the solution to counter this issue.
Mortal talks about hackers in BGMI and getting them banned by Krafton
Hackers have always been an issue in BGMI and Krafton has put in a lot of effort to ensure no one uses hacks or does unethical practices in classic games as well as BGMI tournaments. Players’ points of view (POV) of the matches are recorded and anti cheats are used to ensure no one cheats in the tournament.
In a recent live stream, Mortal was asked by a viewer about hackers in BGMI and why no content creator or live streamer talks about the issue. Responding to this he said, “If I show you guys my Whatsapp messages you would know that we are in constant touch with Krafton and I am pretty sure every Youtuber is reporting such hackers and getting them banned. The point is there is no direct method to report such cheaters and get them banned”.
One of the viewers wrote that Mortal should boycott the game to which his response was, “Boycotting the game is not the solution. Just because we face such an issue does not mean we should boycott the game”.
While playing BGMI in the same live stream Mortal had encountered a hacker who eliminated them. This is not the first time a youtuber has witnessed a hacker in their game. There have been multiple occasions where players have seen enemies using hacks to gain unfair advantage.
Hackers are not limited to classic matches. There have been several instances where multiple players and teams were disqualified by Krafton from playing the official BGMI tournaments because they were caught using hacks and carrying out unethical practices. Players that are caught indulging in such unfair practices are subject to severe penalties by Krafton. Recently a team was disqualified from Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 The Grind as there was foul play involved.
