Esports Award 2022 recently revealed the top three players under the category of 'Esports Mobile Player of the Year'.
Jonathan attained a runners-up finish despite joining the list of nominees pretty late as a wildcard entry.

Professional BGMI player and one of the most famous gaming personalities in India, Jonathan "JONATHAN" Amaral, finished as the runner-up of the 'Esports Mobile Player of the Year' at the Esports Awards 2022.

He was one of the two Indian creators who was nominated for this award ceremony alongside Naman "Mortal" Mathur, who coincidentally also finished second for the category of 'Esports Personality of the Year'.

Esports Awards 2022 had taken place on 13th December at the Resorts World in Las Vegas, honoring players, creators, and talents from the world of gaming and esports across various categories.

It is on this very day that S8UL Esports created history by winning the award for 'Content Group of the Year', becoming the first Indian organization to win a global award.

Jonathan barely misses out on 'Esports Mobile Player of the Year' at the Esports Awards 2022

Despite joining the list of nominees pretty late as a wildcard entry alongside Piyapon “GODCRUZ” Boonchuay, who is a professional Free Fire player from Thailand, Jonathan still managed to grab the second spot and that is worth an applause considering that this was the first time he had been nominated under any category for the ceremony.

This achievement only adds more flair to everything that has come his way in 2022, including a first-place finish in our very own BGMI player rankings for the year.

Talking about his career this year, despite BGMI being banned by the Indian Government, Jonathan managed to prove why he is one of the best at the game by winning the MVP award for BGMI Masters Series, the first-ever televised mobile battle royale tournament in the country.

A total of nine mobile esports athletes were nominated under this category from different titles,

  1. Ceng "Order" Zehai - PUBG Mobile

  2. Jonathan "JONATHAN" Amaral - PUBG Mobile/BGMI

  3. Luan "Lost" Souza - Free Fire

  4. AN "LONG" Xulong - Wild Rift

  5. Mohamed "Mohamed Light" Tarek - Clash Royale

  6. Cauan "Cauan7" De Silva - Free Fire

  7. Sitetampo - Brawl Stars

  8. Eman "Emann" Sangco - MLBB

  9. Piyapon "GODCRUZ" Boonchuay - Free Fire

With rumors suggesting that BGMI might return in January 2023, the mobile gaming community is excited to see Jonathan competing again and have an even better run in 2023, but it will not be an easy task to pull off considering that all teams are hungry to return and dominate the servers.
