ECHO remains determined to compete in the MPL PH Season 8 Week 4 despite its difficult situation in the boot camp.
One of its core members, Christian "Rafflesia" Fajura tested positive for COVID-19 and has been in isolation in the boot camp for more than two weeks.
Aaron "AaronQt" Lim is reportedly staying at his house instead of the boot camp but the reason for that was not revealed.

Philippines esports organization, ECHO, expresses its determination to finish the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Philippines (PH) Season 8 despite most of its members being under quarantine due to being sick. One of its core members, Christian "Rafflesia" Fajura tested positive for COVID-19 and has been in isolation in the boot camp for more than two weeks. In a short vlog posted on its official Facebook page, it was revealed that Aaron "AaronQt" Lim is staying at his house instead of the boot camp but the reason for that was not revealed. The matches are online so fortunately there is no risk of a Covid hazard, therefore, the team shows that they will keep on fighting and are still trying to stay positive despite their situation in the boot camp.

Two members of ECHO under quarantine for being sick

In the first week of the MPL PH Season 8, ECHO had an amazing run with two clean sweep victories against the two veteran teams Bren Esports and Omega Esports. However, the same thing can’t be said for the second and third week as they went on a losing streak of four losses. Their misfortune continued with the team captain, Rafflesia, contracting COVID-19 while the tournament was ongoing.

Before the fourth week of the MPL PH Season 8 officially started, ECHO posted a vlog detailing the situation of its boot camp. The team documented its life inside the bootcamp and what problems they were facing at the time.

The team was only allowed to make contact with its two quarantine members through video calls. However, this didn’t stop them from participating last week as the quarantined players still volunteered to play and would most likely compete in the fourth week of the MPL PH Season 8.

“It’s really hard because almost all of us got sick while others force themselves to play because we lack players. Others have to switch roles even if it’s not their role,” stated Jaymark "Hadess" Lazaro. “Additionally, some of us can only do video calls due to being quarantined but that’s life. So, we keep fighting.”

The team communicates through video calls.

The team’s Gold Laner, AaronQt, stated that he is currently staying at his home but the reason was not revealed.

Despite this predicament, the team continues to spread positivity and even managed to celebrate Frederic "Bennyqt" Gonzales’ birthday which was on 10th Sept 2021. The team vows to never give up until the end and will continue to fight no matter how hard the situation gets.

ECHO is scheduled to open up the fourth week of the MPL PH Season 8 with a match against TNC Pro Team on 17th Sept 2021 at 6:00 PM (PHT). It will be interesting to see if the team can recover from its losing streak and potentially keep its momentum going despite its situation in the boot camp.
