Omega Esports will continue to compete next week in hopes of securing a playoff ticket.

Smart Omega continues its miracle run in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 13 Regular Season as the team scores another win against AP Bren.

Fresh from winning against Blacklist International, the squad, led by its legendary roamer Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog, shocked fans with a convincing 2-1 victory against the reigning champion, AP Bren, boosting the team's overall regular season points to 10, a few points closer to securing a playoff ticket.

Through an interview, Smart Omega’s assistant coach shared his thoughts on the impact of Ch4knu’s addition to the lineup.

Ch4knu-powered Omega Shatter Pando's Perfect Win-Loss record

Smart Omega is on a roll and continues its late-season surge with a convincing 2-1 victory against the defending champion, AP Bren.

Game 1 stretched long, allowing the renowned Comeback Kings to reach their late-game primetime moment led by Ch4knu. Lord Dances were hell for AP Bren as Ch4knu disrupted the contest with his iconic Lord Reset plays.

At the 29-minute mark, AP Bren lost its jungler Kyle Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson who picked Barats, giving Smart Omega the golden opportunity to secure the Lord and win the first round of the series.

The defending champion pulled off a one-sided game in the second round, securing all the objectives and leaving nothing for Smart Omega. The match ended with a 12-5 score, in favor of AP Bren, opening a deciding match to settle the series.

Omega quickly recuperated and dominated Game 3, depriving KyleTzy’s Fanny of any resources. With a large lead, Nowee “Ryota” Macasa put the final nail in the coffin with a Maniac kill streak at the 17-minute mark, closing the series.

This marks Pando’s first loss after his four-win streak and AP Bren’s third loss in the MPL PH Season 13 regular season.

Coach Lembot shared how Ch4knu saved Smart Omega

After a satisfying win, Coach Lembot shared how Ch4knu changed the dynamic of the squad for the better.

“The addition of Ch4knu [to the lineup] helped a lot in our team composition because he’s the one who kept the team calm and collected. The shotcalls were also smooth unlike before where we had the lead but we still couldn’t capitalize on it,” he explained.

Ch4knu was promoted from the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) squad to the MPL lineup in Week 6 as a last resort for playoff contention.

Smart Omega is set to face TNC Pro Team in the final week of the MPL PH Season 13 on 4th May at 6:30 PM (PHT). It will be interesting to see if the Comeback Kings keep their momentum going and secure a playoff spot.
