Ch4knu Returns to MPL PH Season 13 as Smart Omega’s Last Hope for Playoff Contention

The legendary roamer Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog is making a comeback in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 13, as announced by Smart Omega via a social media post.

Ch4knu shall replace Louis "Louis" Ariola. The team aims to go all out in the final two weeks of the regular season in hopes of earning enough points to secure a playoff spot. Smart Omega is in a tight spot as it is currently in 7th place with only one win and nine losses.

The squad will have to double down on their efforts to win their remaining matches as one loss could potentially eliminate their dream of reaching the playoffs in the MPL PH Season 13.

Ch4knu makes a comeback in MPL PH Season 13 in exchange for Louis

Smart Omega is one of the underperforming teams this season. The squad worked hard to polish their chemistry in the previous weeks but still could not find the right balance of strategies and execution to secure consistent victories in their matches.

With the regular season of the MPL PH Season 13 in its final two weeks, the team has decided to bring back its iconic member Ch4knu to the squad, as revealed in a Facebook post.

Ch4knu is one of the key members who led the Execration squad to win the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2021. The team eventually disbanded and the players were then acquired by Smart Omega.

The esteemed roamer is also a Hall of Legends inductee, proving just how iconic he is in the Mobile Legends esports scene.

The addition of Ch4knu means a lot for the Smart Omega squad. Due to weeks of upsetting performance, the team will need to win four matches straight and hope Blacklist International and Minana EVOS will lose all their remaining matches. 

If the conditions aren’t met, Smart Omega may be eliminated from the competition and will miss its playoff run for the first time in MPL PH history.

Smart Omega is set to face Blacklist International on the 6th week of the MPL PH Season 13 this Saturday, 27th April at 9:00 PM (PHT). It will be interesting to see if the team can pull off a miracle run in the weeks remaining and clutch a playoff contention.
