Highlights
Underdog teams put forth great fights against seasoned teams on Day 1 of BGIS 2023 Round 2.
Numen Gaming, Orangutan and GenxFM dominated Day 1.

Day 1 of the BGIS 2023 Online Qualifiers Round 2 has concluded. Although it was the online qualifiers, Krafton chose to live stream Groups 6 and 7 matches. On 8th September, the final three matches of these two groups will be played. The top seven squads from each group will proceed to Round 3 after all groups have played six games each.

Day 1 of Round 2 saw popular teams such as Numen Gaming and Orangutan put forth some incredible fights. Many underdog teams also had a promising start on Day 1. In the second round 32 groups will compete over four days for a spot in Round 3.

BGIS 2023 Round 2 Day 1 summary

Group 6 overview: Numen Gaming showcased dominance in its Group, earning an impressive 54 points in just 3 matches. The team started Round 2 with a chicken dinner in its first match with Shaurya "Savitar" Gupta and Robin "REXX" Boora securing 5 and 7 finishes respectively. They were defeated early in the second map of Miramar. Vivek "ClutchGod" Horo and Rexx delivered outstanding individual performances in the third game securing 6 and 4 finishes respectively. 

Skulltz Esports was placed in the second position with 40 points after consistently performing in all of its matches. Upcoming teams Nameless Crew and Blood Bashers impressed everyone with their playstyle and finished third and fourth with 37 and 36 points, respectively. 

Group 7 overview: GenXfm Esports, who impressed a lot of fans in recent events, dominated Group 7 and was placed first with 53 points. Orangutan also showed its experience by securing the second spot with 44 points. XYLE Esports and U4G Esports both took a chicken dinner each and are presently ranked third and fifth on the points table respectively. GenMokshFM and ClawxPMWIIGL were the top performers in the first match securing 6 finishes each. Beast Soul and DemonGods were out of the top seven after their three matches, and now stand in line for elimination. 

Teams like 4Zods, ZodsXofficial, 4 Dominator and Trex Esports showcased underwhelming performances and are placed at the bottom of the table. These bottom placed teams will have to play outstandingly on Day 2 of the BGIS 2023 Round 2 to earn a spot in Round 3.

Fans are expecting the seasoned teams to continue their dominance on Day 2 as well. Day 2 will be interesting to see as the top placed teams will be looking to carry their momentum and assert dominance while the bottom placed teams will be looking to make a comeback.
