PMCO Fall Split South Asia Postponed Over Hacking Allegation

PMCO Fall Split 2020 kicked off in both India and Pakistan on 12th August with a total of 32 teams in each Club Open battling it out against each other for a spot in the Semi-Finals. PMCO offers a massive prize pool of $1,000,000. A record number of 80,000+ teams registered to participate in the  Fall Split of this open-for-all tournament. However, the Fall edition of the PMCO has been plagued by multiple accusations of hacking. As a result, PMCO India, PMCO South Asia & PMCO Pakistan have been postponed due to what officials termed as ‘suspicious behaviour’ of some qualified teams, who are currently playing the group stages of the tournaments. 4 teams from PMCO Pakistan have already received lifetime bans.

Reports of hacking in PMCO Fall Split India 2020

TSM Entity’s Ghatak uploaded an insta story 3 days ago, asking PMCO officials to look into the matter urgently. Ghatak also requested his followers to raise the issue on social media by sharing the story and tagging officials. These efforts seem to have paid off as PMCO officials have ended up postponing PMCO India due to ‘suspicious behaviour’ of some players. PMCO India will remain postponed till ‘tournament integrity is ensured’. 

Just days into the group stage matches, several allegations have been made against teams about using cheats. Influencers like Kull had also called out teams on his Instagram for allegedly cheating. After several YouTubers claimed to have gathered proof against teams and further backlash from the community PUBG Mobile officials decided to postpone the entire event. Following this decision, TSM Entity Ghatak took to Instagram to thank the PUBG Mobile officials.

4 teams banned in PMCO Pakistan over hacking

PMCO Pakistan Fall Split 2020 also faced a similar situation. The official stream of PMCO Pakistan was stopped midway and the casters announced a break after which streaming stopped. Officials reportedly conducted an all-captain meeting for PMCO Pakistan following the accusations of hacking and ended up giving Team Xtreme, 47 esports, Team Ecstasyyy and Team Hellfire lifetime bans from PMCO Pakistan. As of now, PMCO Pakistan is also postponed.

Hacking issues have been a problem for PUBG Mobile recently but officials are taking necessary action to ensure the integrity of its tournaments. 531 teams were disqualified during the online qualifiers because of cheating or using third-party apps to gain an unfair advantage.
