When Lego Fortnite was initially released in December 2023, many fans were disappointed by the lack of vehicles in the game mode. Although various wheeled structures could be built, they were not entirely functional and would require quite a bit of grind to obtain.
With the newly released V29.10 Mechanical Mayhem Update, the devs have finally added numerous Vehicle Parts and three pre-designed vehicles for players to use. However, the game demands you to build a new Compost Bin, capable of producing Power Cells to energize your machines. Here’s how you can construct this station in Lego Fortnite.
Here’s How You Can Craft the Compost Bin in Lego Fortnite
The ingredients needed to build the newly introduced Compost Bin station are relatively easier to find, however, you need basic items like the Lumber Mill, Crafting Bench, and Cattle to craft and collect specific resources. Here’s everything you require:
X1 Sand
X2 Soil
X3 Fertilizer
X5 Plank
Although the recipe for the Compost Bin is not immediately shown, it becomes available the moment you acquire Sand in your inventory or by crafting Planks at the Lumber Mill. While Sand can be collected from the Dry Valley Desert or beaches, Soil can be obtained from Grasslands or plains. Keep in mind that both these resources require a Shovel to collect them. It can be made using x3 Wooden Rod and x1 Plank at the Crafting Bench.
Fertilizer, on the other hand, requires you to feed animals like Cows, Sheep, or Chickens and collect them as drops. You might also occasionally find them on the ground beside these cattle. Once you’ve obtained all the necessary items, all you need to do is head to the Utility tab in the Build Menu and place the Compost Bin station.
What Are the Uses of the Compost Bin in Lego Fortnite?
As mentioned earlier, the main use of this new station is to obtain resources like Biomass, that unlocks the recipe to craft Power Cells. These cells are then placed inside Power Centers, which will essentially act as the engines of your vehicles.
Additionally, the Compost Bin can also produce Fertilizer and Soil, which means you need not run after animals or dig through the Grasslands to obtain them. All you need to do is place unwanted or unused items into it, which will be processed into any of these materials. However, keep in mind that the amount and rarity of the items you acquire are directly dependent on the type of item deposited into the station.
