During the post match interview session, Alecks gave his early opinion on which players might comprise of Paper Rex's main team in the future.
Alecks named two player who he thinks will be "the safer ones" due to their respective roles on the team.
Paper Rex has won its first match against DetonatioN FocusMe and will be facing Team Secret on 2 April.

The esports organization from Singapore, Paper Rex, has started its journey in the VCT 2023: Pacific League on a positive note, handing DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) a clean 2-0 defeat in its opening match of the regular season.

This is not the only reason for the team to celebrate as they have been joined by a new member, Ilia "something" Petrov, the seventh active Valorant player of the organization who was announced just a few days before the league began.

During the scrum interview held after their match, Alexandre "alecks" Sallé - Head Coach of Paper Rex, spoke about the potential main and substitute players for the side going forward now that the organization was operating an extended seven-player lineup.

Alecks talks about Paper Rex's potential main Valorant lineup and substitute players

During the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo, Paper Rex had operated a standard six-player lineup with five active players and a substitute. However, a first-round wipeout by Cloud9 prompted them to sign an upcoming prospect, something, to bolster its lineup by adding more firepower to it.

In its previous match against DFM, the organization operated its regular main lineup consisting of the following players,

  1. Aaron "mindfreak" Leonhart

  2. Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto

  3. Benedict "Benkai" Tan

  4. Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee

  5. Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie

However, at that point in time something had still not joined the team at its bootcamp in Seoul, South Korea. Now that he is with them, Paper Rex has the freedom to try out different player compositions, something that Alecks agrees with and provides some insights about.

Talking about which players will remain as part of the main lineup and the ones who will be rotated when required, Alecks says, "Honestly, I think probably f0rsakeN and mindfreak, just because of the nature of their roles will be the safer ones, but I think we will run everyone a fair chance before we decide what's the best roster moving forward."

There are still a lot of matches left to be played out in the VCT 2023: Pacific League and Paper Rex is one of the top contenders to qualify through to the Tokyo Masters and VCT Champions.

It will be interesting to see how they move forward with this extended lineup and whether they are able to utilize all the players effectively or not.
