Riot Games unveiled newest champion Hwei, the Visionary, on 19th November during Worlds 2023. He is slated for release along with LoL Patch 13.24 which is set to be rolled out on 6th December. Though there is only one more week until we see the champion out on live servers, Riot Games developers are still scrambling and adjusting Hwei's kit ahead of his release.
Hwei, who is currently under testing in the Public Beta Environment (PBE), just received a bag full of nerfs since Riot thinks he is a tad bit too strong at the moment.
Hwei Strongly Nerfed on PBE Ahead of Release
Champion designer Myles "Emizery" Salholm took to the HweiMains subreddit on 29th November to talk about the slew of nerfs coming players' in the next PBE patch.
He said, "Next PBE patch you should see a number of additional balance changes as a response to the attack and EW based changes earlier this week. Additionally, we're lowering Hwei's burst potential to allow for greater casting cadence allowing him to combo spells more frequently and play a bit more aggressively mid-late game."
The developers are reverted the QQ ability's Ability Power (AP) ratio nerf as scaling was hit a little too strong.
Having said all that, here are the nerfs done to Hwei's kit on the PBE:
P - Signature of the Visionary:
