The ongoing Valorant Challengers Tour (VCT) 2023: Pacific League is about to enter its fourth week of competition, slowly shaping up to give us a good insight into which teams are performing well and those that need to pick up the slack.

All this action has attracted audiences from around the world with the recent match between Global Esports and ZETA DIVISION setting a new viewership record for the tournament, achieving a peak of 336,722 concurrent viewers according to Esports Charts.

The best-of-three series which went down to the wire was played on 9th April with ZETA DIVISION mounting a successful comeback to walk away as the winner and move up to the fifth position on the overall standings.

The Japanese Valorant community is huge and very passionate about the partnered teams that are representing the country in the international competitive circuit.

This is very evident from the fact that four out of the five most-matched matches of the VCT 2023 Pacific League involve one of the two Japanese teams - ZETA DIVISION or DetonatioN FocusMe.

The latest encounter involving ZETA DIVISION was quite the thriller as the team went up against the Indian organization Global Esports, who had rattled DRX hard during the second week of the regular season.

Clawing its way towards victory after losing on the first map, ZETA DIVISION showcased exemplary grit to keep its footing in the match and delivered consecutive top-notch performances. This attracted lots of viewers which ultimately set a new viewership record for the league, achieving a peak of more than 330,000 concurrent viewers.

In comparison, the maximum peak viewership attained so far by the two other major Valorant leagues are as follows:

    BBL Esports vs Karmine Corp | 288,816 peak concurrent viewership

  • VCT 2023: Americas League

    Sentinels vs 100 Thieves | 407,641 peak concurrent viewership

There are still a lot of matches left to take place in the regular season of the Pacific League which will conclude on 16th May. This means that the viewership numbers are likely to go up as the event warms up with the next match becoming more important than the last.
