Laz was the representative of ZETA DIVISION at the press conference held as part of the VCT 2023: Pacific League.
He spoke on a lot of topics including key changes that ZETA DIVISION had made after the VCT LOCK//IN event.
ZETA DIVISION will be taking on DRX in the opening match of the VCT 2023: Pacific League.

The Premier Valorant tournament for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2023: Pacific League, will commence from 25th March onwards. All ten partner teams will convene in Seoul, South Korea to determine the top three that will qualify for both VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo and Valorant Champions 2023.

Fans and supporters of different teams would obviously pick their respective sides. However, Koji "Laz" Ushida, a member of ZETA DIVISION believes that the changes implemented by the organization are enough to take the team across the finish line.

During the press conference held as part of the opening ceremony, VCT Pacific Face Off, the 27-year-old pointed out how despite playing with the same roster, positive changes have been inculcated by the team.

Insights from LAZ: Key qualities that Valorant teams need to qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo

One of the most experienced esports athletes from Japan, Laz, during the press conference gave his opinion on various topics like how prepared was ZETA DIVISION to go up against DRX in the opening match of the league, the pressure of competing knowing that the Masters event will be held in Tokyo, and changes made by the team after the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo.

Laz spoke highly about DRX, the best-performing team from the APAC region at the LOCK//IN tournament, while adding that there will be slight pressure on them because they would love to represent their country at the VCT Master Tokyo, but not enough to have a big impact on their gameplay.

VCT Pacific Face Off: Press Conference

As for the changes implemented by ZETA DIVISION, we all know that the team has not undergone any player shuffles, so it turns out that the organization simply practiced harder and tried lots of things within the game.

"From our last year's experience and the walls we had to overcome, a lot of changes had to be made within the team, following which we just focussed on practicing more," said Laz, "I don't think we have to make any more changes now. As for the details of adjustments that we have made within the team, just watch our matches and you will notice them."

Note: The related segments starts from 1:09:18 onwards.

With a completely Japanese lineup and support staff, ZETA DIVISION, seems ready for the upcoming VCT 2023: Pacific League. The team is determined to qualify and play in front of the home crowd but the journey till that point will be long and hard, with only the top three teams getting the opportunity to claim those spots.
