Chapter 5 Season One of Fortnite brought numerous additions to the traditional battle royale in the form of new game modes along with events like the Winterfest 2023, which ensured that the game offered something for every type of player. With this year’s Winterfest event, we also saw several Limited Time gadgets such as throwables and utility items like the Grapple Blade that allow you to traverse through the map while also dealing damage to your enemies.
In a recent post on the FortNiteBR subreddit, we saw Redditor @DamnHare, trying to use the Grapple Blade only for it to glitch out and throw them halfway across the map with no possibility of returning back to the safe zone. Grapple Blade Bug Throws Player Halfway Across Fortnite’s Map
This must be one of the most bizarre glitches to occur in the game’s battle royale mode, only second to the infamous Fatal Fields bug that caught the attention of several players. This post showcases @DamnHare facing their last opponent in the game’s final zone while they are suddenly jolted across the map upon using the Grapple Blade.
While the player was preparing for a strategic encounter to finish off the final opponent using Shock Grenades, their last play was to get closer to the enemy using the Grapple Blade but in a shocking turn of events, it attached to a distant surface instead of the targeted player and they were transported from the snow biomes, all the way to the Grasslands. This absurd yet hilarious glitch has garnered the attention of the community, with players leaving funny comments in response to the clip.
Some also mocked @DamnHare’s reaction, as they were screaming at the top of their lungs in Japanese, absolutely baffled by what had just happened. Some gamers also pointed out that that specific mountain spot has always been so buggy and even landing there on a glider would make your character get stuck in place for a while.
