Former PSG.LGD support Zhao "XinQ" Zixing recently shared the story of PSG.LGD’s collapse at The International 2022 (TI11) during a livestream. PSG.LGD were heavily considered as a title contender at the event as the team retained its roster from the previous season. However, the team were defeated by Team Aster at TI11 which ended their competitive year along with any hopes of reaching a third Grand Final in its organization history.
During the off-season, PSG.LGD were forced to rebuild as Zhang "Faith_bian" Ruida & XinQ left the team while star carry Wang “Ame” Chunyu took a break from the current competitive season.
XinQ admitted that he played poorly against Team Aster at TI11
According to Chinese Dota 2 news aggregator @Tr1H4rd3rDota2, XinQ recently told the story behind his former team’s collapse at TI11 during a livestream. He started off by talking about Ame’s decision to pick Riki in the team’s elimination match against Team Aster. While he noted that the team did have any practice with the hero as a carry in scrims, he also said that the team believed that it was a good pickup at the time.
While Ame did have a good game as Riki during the match, with 10 kills and 6 assists the team ended up losing the series 2-0 against Team Aster.
XinQ then went on to blame himself for the loss, saying that he played poorly while also expended too much energy by yelling during the team’s match against South American team beastcoast which in return made him tired and sleepy during the match against Aster to the point where he would washed his face for a few times to stay awake.
Furthermore, XinQ humorously noted that after analyzing the series, he should have not washed his face during the series. He recalled a meme that occurred during The International 2021 (TI10), where coach Zhang "xiao8" Ning made him wash his face during the grand finals. XinQ joked that if he didn't have done so at The International (TI), he could have finished second at The International, however washing up could lead to a top-6 finish.
As of now, XinQ is currently a free agent as he wanted to recover from health issues while taking a break from the competitive season. However, as the season progresses there might be a possibility for XinQ to return into the competitive scene with a new team.
