Dota 2 patch 7.31 will be released on 23rd Feb 2022.

The new Dota 2 patch 7.31 will release on 23rd Feb 2022, after a nearly eight month wait. In a recent YouTube video posted to Team Spirit's channel, the team members offered lots of suggestions for the new patch, including those for the map, the economy, heroes, and items. Even though the players hilariously had a tendency to list their patch wishlist based on the roles they play in the game, most of them also stated some unique ideas that they thought should be integrated into the game.

Team Spirit members share their thoughts on patch 7.31

Map changes

Offlaner Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov offered his thoughts on the map, saying the Radiant side needed to be reworked since the three lanes were extremely close to each other. However, carry player Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk was of the opinion that both sides have an even balance because the Radiant side has an easier time securing Roshan while the Dire side enjoys the ease of stacking neutral camps.

In addition, Collapse would like to see Ancient Camps on both sides of the jungle. Also, Outposts do not really serve a major purpose, and he wants Shrines back into the game.

Captain Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov and midlaner Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek said that they were tired of the patch's current map and would change it all. Miposhka expressed his desire for the introduction of some unique uphills that will only give their full vision to those who stand atop them.

Unique ideas

Coach Airat "Silent" Gaziev and Miposhka agreed with Collapse's proposal to bring Shrines back. Shrines could be reworked and may be disabled at times, according to Silent. Miposhka emphasized this point further by mentioning that Shrines could be disabled while enemies are nearby.

A further interesting idea was proposed by Miposhka to eliminate the randomness in the runes. “I actually came up with his idea not long ago. One minute before a rune appears, you would be notified about its location, so that you could come up with a plan beforehand, prepare your resources for the hero, or fight for the rune, for example,” he said.

In addition, Yatoro discussed the idea of rewarding players with gold if their Observer Wards remained intact for the entirety of their duration. “I have a brilliant idea. You put Observer Wards playing support. If enemies don’t destroy it in 6 minutes, you get gold for it.”

The response Miposhka gave to this showed a possible loophole in the mechanic. “So you can put three Observer Wards in the base. You can really put Observer Ward in the base playing carry role,” Miposhka noted.

In his explanation about the changes to the heroes, Silent drew inspiration from the Auto Chess mode to discuss how having certain hero combos may be beneficial. “Some perks are stacking if Clockwerk and Timbersaw are playing together, something like a fraction, and they have a +1 regen or +1 armor if they are close to each other,” he said.

Other changes

The members came up with a variety of ideas as to how various items and heroes of their role could be changed. Yatoro went into detail about how he would like to see carry heroes like Juggernaut and Anti Mage buffed while making items like Sentry Wards more expensive. Collapse considered that Weaver, a hero very popular in this patch, needed to change significantly. While midlaners enjoy taking solo kills, TORONTOTOKYO argued that these kills should award a lesser amount of gold.

However, Valve decides what actually changes in patch 7.31 in terms of the map, economy, items, and heroes, and we'll find out more about all the changes when the patch rolls out on 23rd Feb.
