After a long wait that has lasted eight months and included a number of small sub patches, the all-new Dota 2 patch 7.31 will be released in less than three weeks. Valve announced in a blog post on its website that Dota 2 patch 7.31 will arrive on 23rd Feb 2022 after the Regional Finals, the Battle Pass, and the Aghanim's Labyrinth game mode come to an end. The announcement comes after Valve having stated a few days ago that it would release the patch after the Regional Finals, but did not unveil an exact release date. In addition to announcing the patch release date, Valve also revealed an Aghanim's Battle Level Bundle.
Dota 2 patch 7.31 is arriving on 23rd Feb 2022
“Looking further ahead, Gameplay Patch 7.31 is slated to arrive on February 23, 2022,” Valve wrote in its blog post.
Following patch 7.30 on 18th August 2021, five sub-patches were revealed over the following months, but these did not change the gameplay too much. As a result, the game’s meta over a period of time has grown quite stale. Only some heroes have experienced significant growth or declines during certain periods while heroes like Templar Assassin and Lion have continued to remain prominent.
As marked by the 23rd February release date, Dota 2 patch 7.31 will now be the most awaited Dota 2 main patch since December 2016, as it will be released after a total of 189 days. Since December 2016, the last time players had to wait this long was for patch 7.23, which was released in November 2019, 186 days after patch 7.22.
Alongside the release date of patch 7.31, Valve has released an Aghanim's Battle Level Bundle that offers various Battle Pass benefits. The following rewards will be included in each bundle:
60 levels
3 Immortal Treasures
3 Continuum Collection Treasures
3 Ageless Heirloom Treasures
There is a limit of two bundles per buyer, each costing $14.99 USD with a 70% savings on all the benefits.
As this bundle is only available till Wednesday, 9th Feb, users have around five days to get to the last stretch of their Battle Pass progression and reap the rewards. Some of the prominent rewards in the Battle include the “custom lane and siege creeps at level 94; Mirana Persona at level 135; custom towers at level 200; Hoodwink Prestige set at level 277; Drow Ranger Arcana at level 333.”
The Regional Finals, which will be held over the weekends of 11th-13th Feb and 18th-20th Feb, will conclude before Patch 7.31 is released. There's been a call for changes to the map and economy for a very long time, even before the previous 7.30 patch was released in August. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if Valve does indeed make substantial updates to the game this time.
