Dota 2 has not seen a major patch update for six months since the ongoing 7.30 patch, which was rolled out in August 2021. A long time has passed, and with the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 Tour 1 leagues also almost over, a major patch is perhaps not too far off. Team Spirit Captain, Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, in a post-match winner’s interview described what he would like to see from the upcoming change. Miposhka mentioned that he is very bored right now and that any types of changes would be welcomed. He also pointed out in particular that he hopes for Marci to be included in Captain's Mode for the next patch.
Miposhka hopes to see Marci in Captain’s Mode in the next patch
While there have been sub patches, such as 7.30b in August 2021, that have been released with minor changes, they have not satisfied the longings of players, talent, and fans for a major update.
There has been a lot of discussion about what the players would like to see in a major update and after winning his seventh series in the DPC Eastern Europe (EEU) 2021-22 Tour 1 Division 1, The International 10 (TI10) champion, Miposhka came to the post-match winner's interview to explain his wishlist for the highly anticipated patch. Miposhka hoped this would be his last match before the change was implemented, and then he spoke about Marci getting added. He also mentioned that it was hard to come up with new ideas at this point since the meta was largely settled.
“I would say that this is our last match before the patch. I don’t know, anything new because this patch has bored me so much. So maybe I would see Marci in CM (Captain’s Mode), but I think you need to rework her spells, do something (INAUDIBLE). Also, any changes to heroes because it’s really boring to play the same heroes every game. It's also really hard to create some ideas because other heroes are just stronger.”
Marci was added to the game in the post TI10 patch - 7.30e on 28th Oct 2021. She underwent some balance changes over the past months, but Valve has not yet integrated her into the Captain's Mode.
Besides the hero change that Miposhka mentioned there have also been discussions about changes in the economy, such as gold distribution, map changes, outposts, and neutral camps. In fact, when the 7.30 patch was rolled out in August 2021 such changes had not been made to the game which led to disappointment among Dota 2 personalities such as Sébastien "Ceb" Debs. Hence, it has now been over six months since Dota 2 received a patch that brought about tons of changes in terms of all factors.
With the upcoming patch, possibly a 7.31 patch, we shall soon know if it is indeed the time when Marci gets added, changes come to the economy along with changes to the map, or if we will have to settle for just some hero adjustments.
