Team Spirit vs Invictus Gaming: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

In game 1, Team Spirit drafted a safelane Phantom Assassin and a mid Windranger that raised eyebrows, while Invictus Gaming selected a meta draft. After 15 minutes, Invictus Gaming had obtained the Aegis from Roshan, but Team Spirit used its high-quality teamfighting skills to pull off the team wipe. From then on, Team Spirit always had the upper hand and won in 33 minutes.

In game 2, there was a lot of nerve-wracking action. Although Team Spirit had a small advantage in the drafts, execution in the game was what mattered. Random pickoffs from both sides defined the first half of the match, after which it came down to the Roshan fights. Although the game was back and forth, Team Spirit's decision making and spellcasting were superior, and it won in 50 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

Team Spirit started its TI10 Main Stage run with a 2-1 series loss to Invictus Gaming. Following their dramatic improvement over the past four days, the team took revenge on Invictus Gaming by eliminating them from the event. Additionally, not only have the strategies been spot on, but the execution has also been flawless. It is amazing to learn that Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, the carry for Team Spirit, has played 12 different carry heroes in 12 different matches in TI10's Main Stage.

Invictus Gaming, among the more consistent teams of the regular season, continued to establish its reputation at the Dota 2 World Championships. On several occasions, the team displayed a clinic of teamfight execution, making it one of the best in the event. With a fourth-place finish, Invictus Gaming shall leave TI10 in high spirits.

As part of this TI10, the Arena Nationala Stadium in Bucharest will be lit up for the final time tomorrow. In the race for the Aegis of the Champions, only three teams remain. PSG.LGD has already secured a place in the grand final and appears to be the clear favorite to win it all. Both Team Spirit and Team Secret will be vying for the second grand final berth and whoever wins may well be the underdog in the grand final.
