Team Secret has completed its Dota 2 roster with the addition of renowned player Syed “SumaiL” Sumail Hassan. As part of this change, SumaiL will return to the midlane, a position he occupied and has been successful at in the past. Through the fifth and final episode of its roster reveal comic, Team Secret first teased the return of the player with the title, 'THE KING IS BACK.' A formal announcement followed, announcing the player's recruitment. SumaiL's addition comes after Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang was added as the new offlaner of Team Secret earlier today.

Team Secret signs SumaiL in the midlane

“Charisma, swagger, talent, and a long list of accolades herald Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan’s arrival to Team Secret. Long live the King…Roll out the red carpet in the midlane and please join us in welcoming SumaiL to the Secret DOTA2 squad,” the team wrote in a statement about the player's announcement.

Team Secret’s final Dota 2 roster for the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 season is as follows:

  1. Michał "Nisha" Jankowski

  2. Syed “SumaiL” Sumail Hassan

  3. Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang

  4. Yazied "YapzOr" Jaradat

  5. Clement "Puppey" Ivanov

  • Lee "Heen" Seung Gon (Coach)

Team Secret's episode of its new midlaner's recruitment featured Puppey discovering a crown that belonged to SumaiL.

SumaiL had been rumored to join Team Secret for quite some time, and it has now transpired with this announcement. In the previous DPC season, he played for OG as a safelaner towards the latter half. He helped the team qualify for The International 10 (TI10) by winning the Western European qualifier. At TI10, OG was looking promising until it lost back-to-back series to Team Secret and Team Spirit and got eliminated.

SumaiL earned his name in competitive Dota 2 by winning TI5 with Evil Geniuses while just 16 years old. The majority of his career at Evil Geniuses had been spent as a midlaner. However, he had been switching between the midlane and the safelane in the past couple of years when he played for other teams.

Team Secret is entering the next season with two huge additions to its roster. Overall, this is one of the strongest rosters on paper. SumaiL and iceiceice replace Lasse Aukusti "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen and Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg, two players with also great reputations. In light of this, it will be interesting to see if this iteration of Team Secret can be as successful as previous ones.
