European Dota 2 team, Team Secret has officially announced that they will be parting ways with offlaner Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg. Zai was a mainstay of the Team Secret organization for over three years, securing multiple Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) Major wins and several highly successful runs in third-party tournaments. Team Secret is yet to announce the replacement of Zai and whether they will be undergoing more roster changes to their lineup.
Zai Parts Ways With Team Secret After Nearly Three Years
Zai joined Team Secret in September 2018 following the conclusion of TI8 and has been competing in the lineup ever since, surviving multiple roster shuffles and DPC seasons. With him in the lineup, Team Secret won several DPC majors including The Chongqing Major, MDL Disneyland Paris Major, DreamLeague Season 13. The team also secured a Top 4 placement at The International 2019 and a Top 3 finish at The International 2021.
Team Secret announced Zai's departure via an official post on their website, thanking him for the past three years and wishing success on the road ahead.
“It is a sad moment, but I have to accept that all good things come to an end. I have nothing but love for this man, not only is he an amazing and persistent teammate, he is also a great friend,” said Team Secret captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov about Zai’s departure. He added, “No matter where you go and what you do, I am sure you’ll find success. I wish you nothing but the best.”
Zai also commented on his departure stating that the past three years were some of his best ones, spent playing Dota 2.
Following Zai’s departure, Team Secret’s roster for the 2021-22 DPC Season is currently,
Lasse Aukusti "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen
Michał "Nisha" Jankowski
Yazied "YapzOr" Jaradat
Clement "Puppey" Ivanov
