In a move that brings an end to its Dota 2 roster, Omega Esports has released all five players along with the team analyst, Josef "JL" Leonard Brazal. A Twitlonger post from Omega Esports thanked the players for their contributions to the team and wished them the best of luck in their future careers. Omega Esports’ Dota 2 roster has been disbanded

“This roster has carried our green and blue jersey through various tournaments and esports leagues. Together, we've garnered numerous achievements and even secured the Upper Division slot at the Dota2 Pro Circuit,” Omega Esports said in its parting statement.

Omega Esports’ roster at the time of release:

  1. Justine Ryan Evangelista "Tino" Grimaldo

  2. Mc Nicholson "Mac" Villanueva

  3. Samson Solomon Enojosa "Sam_H" Hidalgo

  4. Mark "Shanks" Redira

  5. Bryle "cml" Alviso

In its parting statement, the Filipino organization did not mention Chris "CTY" Ian Francis Maldo, who was recruited only last month as the team's coach, so it suggests that he will remain with them. At the moment, Shanks is playing as a stand-in for OB.Neon in the BTS Pro Series S7: SEA, but it is unknown if he will join the team permanently.

This roster release follows Omega Esports’ inability to qualify for The International (TI10) through the Southeast Asian (SEA) qualifier. The team lost back to back series in the qualifier, initially to Fnatic and then Galaxy Racer to get eliminated.

Fnatic went on to win TI10's SEA qualifier

The good news for Omega Esports in the next DPC season is that after finishing sixth in the current season, it will be starting its journey in the Upper Division.

As a result of the postponement of TI10 by three months, from August to October, the next DPC season will also be postponed. During this time gap, we may see more organizations parting ways with its Dota 2 rosters and then recruit new ones as the time progresses. Omega Esports and Vikin.gg are two of the teams that have released their rosters. At this time, it is not known when the next DPC season will begin.
