A growing number of Dota 2 players are now achieving 12,000 MMR, with Evil Geniuses' offlaner Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko amongst the latest to achieve this milestone. The organization tweeted its offlaner's achievement by attaching a screenshot of his MMR from the game. In addition to this, Evil Geniuses also noted that he shall be returning to the team for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) North American (NA) 2021-22 Regional Finals after having missed the second half of Tour 1. Evil Geniuses’ first series in the Regional Finals will take place against TSM (formerly Team Undying).

“Congratulations on 12k MMR and EU rank 1, @Nightfall_dota,” tweeted Evil Geniuses, saying it was looking forward to seeing the player on 18th Feb.

Due to geographical barriers, Nightfall missed the second leg of Tour 1, and former Quincy Crew support player Arif "MSS" Anwar filled the role of offlaner for Evil Geniuses. It had been a struggle for Evil Geniuses right up until this point with two wins in four series but with MSS on the squad, Evil Geniuses interestingly defeated the three strongest teams: 4 Zoomers, TSM, and Quincy Crew and tied with TSM for second place. However, the team lost the tiebreaker in Tour 1 to TSM and finished third.

In the Regional Finals, Evil Geniuses will play second seed, TSM, and in the opposite half of the bracket, the toppers of the table Quincy Crew will meet fourth seed 4 Zoomers. The four teams will compete for the largest chunk of the $100,000 USD prize pool and 380 DPC points.

Evil Geniuses Nightfall is yet another core player to reach 12K MMR

Dota 2 Pro Tracker shows that Nightfall has played 26 games in the past eight days with a 50% win rate. Nine of those 26 games have been played with Doom with a 33.3% win rate.

Currently, Nightfall holds the number one spot on the European MMR Leaderboards moving TSM's Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek to the number two spot. SabeRLight- became the first offlaner to reach 12k MMR just a couple of days ago. The two players are followed by Martin "Saksa" Sazdov, Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko, and Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin.

Nightfall is only the second offlaner to achieve 12,000 MMR in this club of primarily core players. Some notable players who have achieved this feat in the past are Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, Danil "gpk" Skutin, Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang, and Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon. 23savage was the first player to hit 12k MMR back in March 2021.

Nightfall has many accounts and he has played a significant amount of pubs over the past couple of years, leading to the remarkable achievement of 11K MMR on two separate accounts. He achieved 11k MMR for the first time on 27th August 2020 and the second time was on 29th Dec 2020, making him the first player to do so.
