Tundra Esports announced former Nigma Galaxy player Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov as its new offlaner.
This comes a couple of days after Tundra announced the return of Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen to the active roster.
After this roster move, Tundra only has the carry player left to unveil for the 2024 competitive season.

Rumors regarding Tundra Esports' roster changes have started to come true since the organization officially welcomed Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov to its Dota 2 roster shortly after revealing that Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen was back to the active roster. As Tundra's social media handles revealed, MinD_ContRoL will be the team's new offlaner. This development occurs just a few days after MinD_ContRoL parted ways with his former teammates at Nigma Galaxy, bringing an end to their eight year long collaboration. After this roster move, Tundra only has the carry player left to unveil for the 2024 competitive season.

MinD_ContRoL will play position three for Tundra Esports in the 2024 competitive season

“Someone we all know is going to control some minds again! Welcome @NigmaMC to the #TundraTribe,” the organization wrote on Twitter.

As it stands now, Tundra Esports has four Dota 2 players on its roster, with only one left to be announced.

  1. TBD

  2. Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen

  3. Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov

  4. Edgar “9Class” Naltakian

  5. Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon

It has been speculated for a while that MinD_ContRoL is going to join a new team for the 2024 competitive season and after he officially left Nigma Galaxy on 20th Dec 2023, these speculations intensified.

With him on board officially, Tundra Esports now boasts two veterans and TI winners in them, paired with two fresh young talents in 9Class and Whitemon, leading to a very balanced mix. Although Whitemon has experience competing in tier one tournaments, he is still relatively unfamiliar with the competitive landscape of the highly competitive Western European (WEU) region.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see how MinD_ContRoL adjusts to a new roster after being with the Nigma Galaxy teammates since 2015, despite occasional stand-in stints recently. Given his experience, he is expected to take on a leadership position within the team.

On the other hand, it has been rumored that Tundra's carry player is Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko. He was moved to BetBoom Team's inactive roster late in December 2023, and he has not joined any other team since then. At BetBoom, he played as a carry player before switching to the offlane.

The carry player announcement is expected shortly, with Tundra's new lineup slated to make its debut at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024: WEU Closed Qualifier on 11th Jan 2024. The team's first series in the qualifier will be against OG. Only one slot is up for grabs in the event.
