With this victory, BOOM Esports moves into the upper bracket finals while Team SMG drops to the lower bracket.

In spite of its change of safelaner for the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Southeast Asia (SEA) 2021-22 Regional Finals, BOOM Esports continued with its impressive display of top-tier Dota 2 by taking down Team SMG 2-0. BOOM Esports showed a great grasp of the game and was always one step ahead of Team SMG in both games. Team SMG made some moves in both games and earned a few kills, but they consistently lacked the firepower to take down the most important targets. With this victory, BOOM Esports moves into the upper bracket finals.

BOOM Esports vs Team SMG: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

Game 1 saw BOOM Esports go for Medusa at the end of the drafting stage, which proved to be a very wise decision. She had a strong laning stage and as the game progressed, Team SMG's heroes never seemed capable enough to take her from full to zero. BOOM Esports moved from one objective to another meticulously with Medusa sitting in the front. The supports on their side were equally adept at finding pickoffs and using their spells to perfection. Team SMG concentrated its efforts on the backlines, and although they managed some kills, it was not enough to turn the game around and it lost in 35 minutes.

In game 2, BOOM Esports once again picked Medusa at the end and Team SMG stuck with the Morphling - Spirit Breaker combo seen in game one. JaCkky had a free laning phase and his farm accelerated further as the game progressed. Team SMG attempted to be more proactive this time, but either their rotations were a bit too aggressive or BOOM Esports' support duo, with assistance from Yopaj, countered them. In a similar fashion to the first game, BOOM Esports kept on gradually extending its lead, ultimately winning in 39 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

BOOM Esports is just portraying a very high level of Dota 2 gameplay. The players are not only pressing their buttons with perfect precision, but they are also excellently syncing their spells. A new MVP seems to emerge in each series the team wins, and today it was Timothy John "Tims" Randrup, who proved to be a beast on his position four Mirana, finding the perfect Arrows on the opponents.

Even though Team SMG had a shot at winning with its drafting strategy, BOOM Esports actually read them like a book and countered almost all of its moves.

As part of the DPC SEA 2021-22 Regional Finals, T1 and Fnatic will square off next. The winner will progress to the upper bracket finals against BOOM Esports while the loser drops to the lower bracket to face Team SMG.
