Dota 2 rolled out its next big update via patch 7.35 on 15th December. This new patch was initially teased via a cryptic blog a day before. Along with the much-anticipated Frostivus event, Valve has introduced a barrage of in-game item changes, reworks, loads of new items, and neutral items. This new patch saw the removal of the beloved Ring of Aquila from the game again along with Tumbler’s Toy, Titan Sliver, Quickening Charm, Spell Prism, Penta-Edged Sword, Ex-Machina, and Fallen Sky. The patch update also saw the release of several new immortals and sets for the Dota 2 community to indulge in.

Here are some of the biggest changes seen in Patch 7.35.

Patch 7.35: Last Big Update for Dota 2 in 2023

Patch 7.35 is perhaps one of the biggest update of this year, with loads of item changes, reworks, additions, and even removal. Here are some of the few changes that are worth keeping an eye out for. These changes could potentially change the way Dota 2 is played:

1. More Spell Damage?

Patch 7.35 comes with an early Christmas present for heroes that deal spell damage, the rework of the double damage rune which has been renamed to “Amplify Damage” now grants the hero +80% base physical damage and +15% Spell amplification. The rework to Divine Rapier to give the wielder an additional +25% Spell damage along with the +350 damage which can prove to be devastating in the hands of heroes like Lina, Muerta, and Ember Spirit amongst other heroes.

2. New Items

The Patch 7.35 also comes with three new game items: Tiara of Selemene, Khanda, and Parasma. Tiara of Selemene is a base item that provides +6 Mana regen and is used to build items like Scythe of Vyse, Refresher Orb, and Octarine Core. Khanda is an upgrade from Phylactery and Crystalys that works like Phantom Assassin’s Stifling Dagger, dealing a flat 100 +75% of the user’s attack damage on impact.

Parasma applies a -20% magic resistance debuff on the enemy and is an upgrade of Witch Blade and Mystic Staff. This item can be a wonderful item of choice for heroes with range spell damage dealers like Storm Spirit, Silencer, and Muerta.

The game also saw the return of Ring of Tarrasque which provides its bearer with +12 health regen. The patch also includes nine new neutral items and three returning neutral items including the much-loved Royal Jelly.

The update also saw changes to Roshan’s drops. Starting from the second death, Roshan drops Cheese when killed on the Radiant side and Roshan's Banner when killed on the Dire side. Starting with the third death, Roshan now drops Refresher Shard on the Radiant side and Aghanim's Blessing on the Dire side.
