ZywOo Admits That S1mple Was Better Than Him in CS:GO This Year
The French superstar is indeed a humble beast.
The French juggernauts, Team Vitality, gave it their best at the recently concluded IEM Winter 2021 by walking away as the champions after winning their first big CS:GO tournament of the season. Despite being crowned as the champions, the overall joy seemed limited due to the impending 2022 roster shuffle looming over the players' heads.
Though Vitality didn't give up till the very end, this was far from an ideal season for it which was completely conquered by the indomitable Natus Vincere (NAVI). While being compared to Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, which has been the case these past few years, Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut admitted that the NAVI AWPer was a better CS:GO player than him this year, during an interview with Esports Kingdom.
ZywOo accepts s1mple to be the better CS:GO player this year
The deadly French sniper, ZywOo, is truly a humble beast as he accepts his defeat to s1mple this year. Though the 21-year-old has been having a great season individually, Vitality as a team has not shone to its fullest potential.
Adding to their troubles, NAVI along with their star s1mple has found the perfect team synergy ever since the rookie Valerii "b1t" Vakhovskyi joined the main roster permanently.
With the competitive season coming to an end and s1mple having won seven MVP awards so far, along with both the Intel Grand Slam Season 3 and the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, it has become clear as to who is the best CS:GO player this year.
Discussing about the same in a recent interview, ZywOo when asked about his opinion on the topic confidently said that,
Of course s1mple is better than me this year, but I had a bad year too. I'm going to do everything next year in 2022 to get better. I know this year was pretty hard with COVID, we have to play from home, it was really hard sometimes. ZywOo won his first MVP award towards the very end of the season, but like a true sportsman he acknowledged his shortcomings without any second thoughts and vowed to perform better next year in 2022.
It will be interesting to see how Vitality's reported overhaul turns out, how far will ZywOo go to step up his game even further individually, and will Team Vitality step up to be the team to look out for in the next competitive season.
