S1mple Refers to Himself as ‘Hokage’ After CS:GO Major Victory
He would make a solid leader!
One of the best CS:GO players in the world, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, is on cloud nine since having won his first Major title with NAVI in Stockholm, Sweden. The entire community including other players, rival organizations, and talent congratulated him for his achievement while echoing the same notion of him truly deserving this victory.
Just four days after winning the Major, s1mple has already started grinding on FACEIT to achieve NAVI's next goal of truly establishing their era. Somewhere in between all this, the 24-year-old realized that he has finally become a Hokage, as he shared this thoughts with all the fans who came in hordes to address this message.
S1mple realizes that he has finally become the Hokage from Naruto
There were a lot of narratives drawn after s1mple finally won his first Major, but all that the GOAT (greatest of all time) of CS:GO cared about was him earning the right to call himself a 'Hokage'.
For all those who do not read manga or watch anime, Naruto is one of the most popular anime series' out there and the term 'Hokage' is related to this particular show. To state it simply, hokage is a title bestowed upon the leader of a village, in Naruto. The head of the hidden leaf village is referred to as the Hokage, who is also generally regarded as the strongest person in the village and serves to protect the village from outer forces.
With s1mple finally achieving a victory at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, he has basically conquered the last remaining goal in his CS:GO career. The cherry on top is of course winning the third season of the Intel Grand Slam, a title that only three CS:GO teams have achieved so far Astralis, Team Liquid, and NAVI. This actually makes it a lot bigger feat to achieve than the coveted Major title.
All of these achievements propelled NAVI to the top of the world rankings, where they have maintained their standing for quite some time now. Also, s1mple after finishing two consecutive years as the second-best CS:GO player in the world seems to have finally broken the streak.
So s1mple dubbing himself the Hokage is justified without a hint of doubt, as he stands atop the entire Counter-Strike circuit as one of the best players to have ever graced the game.
