The star AWPer attains a total of four aces in IEM Cologne 2021 against Renegades, Astralis, and G2 Esports.
The final ace came against G2 Esports on Dust 2 in the first game of the Grand Finals.

One of the best CS:GO players in the world, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev was on fire at the recently concluded IEM Cologne 2021. Not only was he named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament with an overall rating of 1.51, but he also went on to create a new record of taking the maximum number of aces by a player in an 'S-Tier' tournament. His final ace came in the first map of the grand final Dust 2 against G2 Esports, as he showcased an insane spray control followed by some highly accurate one taps, to secure the 12th round for Na'Vi.

S1mple Registers New Record by Securing Four Aces in IEM Cologne 2021

S1mple got his first three aces in the Group Stage, the first against Renegades, followed by two more against Astralis during the same best-of-three series. With three aces under his belt and having directly qualified for the quarter-finals, s1mple now had two matches to secure another ace and create a new record.

Despite a strong individual performance against FaZe Clan, s1mple failed to register an ace. But he did not have to wait long as the first map against G2 Esports witnessed s1mple in action, as he cleaned the entire team armed with an AK-47.

The first kill which is missing in the clip above sees s1mple take an expert spray kill in the 'Mid' through a smoke. This is followed by an insane 'A-Site' hold as s1mple taps away three more players from G2 Esports, to get a quad kill.

The final kill gets secured by s1mple as he chases down the last player down 'Cat' and shoots him in the back, securing Na'Vi their 12th round and breaking the record for the most aces taken by a player in an 'S-Tier' tournament.

Na'Vi went on to win Dust 2 by a '16-11' scoreline, followed by consecutive victories on Mirage and Nuke by a score of '16-14' and '16-13', respectively. They have now won back-to-back LAN tournaments, 504 days apart while creeping close to grabbing the Intel Grand Slam - Season 3, now just one more victory away.
