S1mple takes care of the entire Astralis lineup single-handedly on Dust 2, securing a clean ace with an AWP.
This is the second AWP ace taken by s1mple at IEM Cologne 2021 so far, both of them coming on Dust 2.

Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev was in prime form against Astralis in their Upper Bracket faceoff of the final 'Group-B' match at IEM Cologne 2021. He took his time getting the engine started, as his teammates Denis "electronic" Sharipov and Valeriy "B1T" Vakhovskiy secured the first map, Ancient, for Na'Vi. However, by the second map, Dust 2, s1mple had found his groove as he single-handedly took care of the entire Astralis lineup during the fifth round. Second time in this tournament that s1mple was demolishing his opponents single-handedly with the big green, proving why he is one of the best CS:GO players in the world.

S1mple Destroys Astralis on Dust 2

One of the best snipers in CS:GO, s1mple, showcased what a beast he was on the AWP as he took care of the entire Astralis lineup alone. Having won Ancient with a convincing '16-7' scoreline, Na'Vi was feeling pumped to close the series '2-0' with a win on Dust 2.

Though Astralis fought hard to deny this possibility, it did get things moving for s1mple who put up a daunting performance on the map. With an HLTV rating of 1.52 on the map, the 23-year-old carried Na'Vi hard with 41 frags to his name and a fantastic ace.

In the fifth round, Na'Vi were down '1-3' when s1mple entered the 'B-Site' along with his entire team, except for Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov who held 'Mid' for his side. All the three players who entered the site with him were instantly taken care of, but s1mple made sure that he got each one of them.

After getting the opening kill of Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen followed by Emil "Magisk" Reif, s1mple found himself all alone in a 1v3 situation. But without the slightest hint of worry he proceeded to take down two more players and planted the C4.

The last frag of Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander was a sitter for s1mple as he secured his second ace of the tournament with an AWP, both of them coming on Dust 2. The first one was secured by s1mple against Renegades and now this.

With this victory, Na'Vi has directly qualified for the semifinals of IEM Cologne 2021 where they will be taking on the winners of Gambit Esports and FaZe Clan. It will be interesting to see if we get to witness a grand clash between the two CIS heavyweights or not.
