Indian esports organization Marcos Gaming has officially joined one of India's biggest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) tournaments, the Skyesports Masters. The organization will be participating as a franchise and is set to unveil its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) roster very soon. It will be competing for a portion of the Rs. 2,00,00,000 prize pool.
The organization currently competes in esports titles such as Brawl Stars, New State Mobile, Clash of Clans, and Pokémon UNITE. Thanks to its talented players and achievements in both national and international tournaments, Marcos Gaming has garnered a dedicated fanbase and a reputable standing. Marcos Gaming is positioned to continue and enhance its prominence as a leading presence in the Indian esports scene.
Marcos Gaming will be the fifth team to join Skyesports Masters
The Skyesports Masters will commence with the League Stage on 8th July, featuring eight franchised teams who will battle it out over several weeks. The top four teams from the League Stage will advance to the Playoffs stage scheduled on 26th August and 27th August. These Playoffs will be a LAN event, setting a new benchmark for the Indian esports industry, said Skyesports.
Marcos Gaming is in the process of signing a five-man CSGO roster for the Skyesports Masters. In addition, the organization plans to include two players from the cafe qualifiers. The first round of cafe qualifiers was held on 17th June and 18th June, and the second round is scheduled for 24th and 25th June The cafe qualifiers aim to recognize and uplift talent from 20 different cities across India.
Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of Skyesports, welcomed Marcos Gaming as one of the franchised teams in the Skyesports Masters. He emphasized the tournament's role in reviving Counter-Strike in India and praised Marcos Gaming's commitment to this cause.
Sudhir Kumar, Founder of Marcos Gaming, expressed excitement about joining India's first franchised esports league for CS: GO. He mentioned that Marcos believes in the vision of Shiva Nandy and Skyesports, which motivated its entry. Kumar highlighted the significance of the franchise model in providing structure to the industry and facilitating brand deals. Marcos Gaming is committed to the long-term development of Counter-Strike in India and aims to represent the country internationally.
Marcos Gaming joins the likes of 7Sea Esports, Reckoning Esports, Gods Reign, and Revenant Esports as a franchise in the Skyesports Masters. It will be joined by three more teams whose announcements will be made soon.
