Skyesports recently made a groundbreaking announcement about the Skyesports Masters, India's first franchised tournament for CSGO. This highly anticipated event will see eight franchised teams battling it out for an impressive prize pool of INR 2,00,00,000 ($244,000). In a recent update, Skyesports revealed that registrations for the Cafe Qualifiers are now open.
Skyesports Masters Roadmap
The tournament will follow a three-phase roadmap.
Phase 1: The first phase, starting from June 17th, will feature offline cafe qualifiers taking place in 20 cities across India. These qualifiers aim to identify the top Counter-Strike players in the nation, and Skyesports has partnered with regional gaming cafes in major cities to facilitate this process
Phase 2: The franchised teams will need to sign two players from the cafe qualifiers to join their rosters, which currently consist of Indian and international Counter-Strike professionals. Once the rosters are finalized, the eight teams will face off in Mumbai over a three-month period, competing in a league stage and playoffs.
The league stage, running from July 1st to August 17th, will involve the eight teams battling for supremacy. The top four teams from this phase will then advance to the playoffs, where they will compete for the championship title.
Phase 3: The playoffs will feature the top four teams competing for the championship title.
The league stage, and playoffs will all be held at a yet-to-be-disclosed venue, with the events being open to a live audience. Further information regarding the venue and ticketing details will be shared in due course.
