Imperial Esports to Reportedly Replace Fnx With Chelo in CS:GO Roster

Roughly six months since its inception, Imperial Esports might be on the verge of undergoing its first CS:GO roster shuffle. If this turns out to be true, it would result in the end of the hyped Brazilian 'last dance' lineup as the former Major winning trio of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, and Lincoln "fnx" Lau would break apart.

It seems fnx might be on his way out of the Brazilian roster with Imperial already having set its sights on Marcelo "⁠chelo⁠" Cespedes, who is currently a part of MIBR's active CS:GO roster, according to multiple reports by Draft5 and Dust 2 Brazil.

The famed 'last dance' that managed to reach the legends stage of the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 against all odds might be reaching the end of its journey together.

According to multiple reports that have surfaced since yesterday, the Major winning core could break apart due to the massive slump in performance it has witnessed in the last two months.

Fnx seems to be the player on the chopping block due to his consistently poor performance since the team got together in February earlier this year. The two-time Major winner has an overall HLTV rating of 0.90, which is the lowest among all players on the current Imperial Esports roster.

He is also the only player to have an overall rating below 1.0 on the team, which is regarded as poor in the top-tier circuit. His other metrics are even worse with an impact rating of 0.77 and a K/D of 0.87. This pretty much sums up why he is allegedly the player that Imperial Esports want to replace ahead of the remaining competitive circuit.

However, the player targetted by Imperial Esports, chelo, is proving difficult to obtain with Imperial still trying to negotiate and complete his buyout from MIBR. A few other potential players on Imperial's radar are Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves, Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt, and Jhonatan "JOTA" WIllian, but no offers have been made in this regard so far.

Imperial Esports is going through a heavy slump since its standout performance in Antwerp, having won just two of its last 13 matches, which included a last place finish in IEM Dallas 2022, REPUBLEAGUE Season 3, and the Roobet Cup.
