All the open qualifiers for the IEM Road to Rio 2022: American RMR (Regional Major Ranking) have concluded with 13 teams making it through to the Major qualifier. They will be joined by the three direct invites who managed to make it to the legends stage of the PGL Antwerp Major 2022.

These 16 teams from North and South America will now be taking on each other in a bid to reserve one of the six available slots for the IEM Rio Major 2022. All the matches are scheduled to take place in an offline format from 5^th to 9^th October in Stockholm, Sweden.

The American RMR is one of the three regions for which this tournament is taking place alongside Europe and Asia-Pacific. Here is everything you need to know about this tournament which acts as a qualifier for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

Teams - Invited and Qualified

Out of the 16 teams that will be participating in the American RMR, three teams have received a direct invite on the basis of their performance at the PGL Antwerp Major 2022, while the remaining 13 slots are up for grabs via the six regional open qualifiers - three each for North and South America.

The American RMR is scheduled to take place from 5^th to 9^th October at the ESL Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. This venue has been selected so that no teams have any problems with travel and visa applications.

Format

• The American RMR will be following a straightforward 16-team Swiss system format.

• Here all the matches will be a single-game affair, except for elimination and advancement matches which will be featuring a best-of-three series.

• The first-place decider will follow a three-game series with a single-elimination format.

• The sixth-place decider will follow a three-game series with a single-elimination gauntlet format.

• The top six teams will move on to the IEM Rio Major 2022 while the bottom 10 teams will be eliminated.

This is the first CS:GO Major ever to take place in Brazil and is scheduled to take place from 31^st October to 13^th November in the Jeunesse Arena, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The tickets for the event have already been sold out.
