Highlights
In a recent press conference, m0NESY revealed that he is not at all nervous about the possibility of facing NAVI in the semifinals of IEM Katowice 2022.
The 16-year-old said that he is not scared of playing against strong opponents like NAVI while singling out b1t as the player he is most eager to go up against.
B1t and m0NESY are former NAVI Junior teammates who spent about nine months playing together as a formidable duo.

CS:GO prodigy, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov has enthralled the entire community with his daredevil clutch performances. The talented AWPer expressed that he is ready to take on NAVI in the semifinals of IEM Katowice 2022. Though G2 Esports would first have to defeat Virtus.pro in the opening match of the playoffs, the 16-year-old in a recent press conference said that “I’m not scared of playing against strong opponents”.

An unfazed m0NESY has not only shown eagerness to play against NAVI, but he is also specifically looking forward to going up against his former NAVI Junior teammate - Valerii "b1t" Vakhovskyi. The CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) youngsters were a formidable duo during their nine-month stint in 2020 before b1t was promoted from the academy team to the main roster.

The youngest member of G2 Esports’ CS:GO roster, m0NESY, is not at all nervous about the potential match against NAVI, his former organization with whom he spent roughly two years (2020-2022), honing and grooming his skills.

Following his spectacular performance across the two seasons of WePlay Academy League, m0NESY managed to grab a lot of attention from tier-one organizations, as G2 Esports reportedly managed to strike a $600,000 USD (INR 4,49,17,500) deal with NAVI.

Since moving to G2 Esports, m0NESY has held an overall HLTV rating of 1.14, with an impact rating of 1.06, and a KPR (Kills Per Round) of 0.71. With regards to his performance in the tournaments he has played till date, the marksman has managed to achieve a 1.13 rating across the eight maps played in BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022, while having averaged a 1.15 rating at IEM Katowice 2022 so far.

Confident in his skills, m0NESY in a recent press conference said the following when asked about a possible clash against NAVI,

I’m not scared of playing against strong opponents. I always want to learn something. It will be tough, but I’m not scared to face this team (NAVI). I want to play against them. I want to play against b1t.

The majority of the community has compared the young AWPer to the GOAT of CS:GO - Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, to the extent where even Dzhami “Jame” Ali - In Game Leader of Virtus.pro, referred to him as the ‘new s1mple’. But it seems that m0NESY himself is focussed on the upcoming NAVI star player b1t, having previously expressed that "I'm even jealous of him (b1t) to a certain extent," due to all the success b1t has achieved in his debut year as a tier-one CS:GO player.

All said and done, everyone needs to keep in mind that the playoffs stage of IEM Katowice 2022 will be taking place in front of a live audience at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. This will be an entirely new experience for m0NESY, who despite showing confidence and putting on a brave face, might feel some jitters. Something that, Andrii "B1ad3" Horodenskyi - NAVI CS:GO Head Coach, has previously touched upon when speaking about the Russian prodigy.
