OG has temporarily taken degster on loan from Team Spirit for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022
Degster will be taking the vacant spot left by Mantuu, who has fallen sick after competing in the Global Esports Tour Dubai.
OG will be playing its first match of the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 against NAVI on 15th June at 20:30 (IST).

The European CS:GO roster of OG will be undergoing a last minute change for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022. With Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski, falling sick after the Global Esports Tour (GET) Dubai, Russian star player, Abdul "degster" Gasanovm will be stepping in to replace him on the active lineup temporarily.

It was a shocker for the entire CS:GO community when Team Spirit decided to bench and transfer-list one of its most talented players, due to 'non-game factors' including not being able to meet the organiation's demand of staying in Serbia long-term due to personal reasons.

However, he will be seen in action shortly at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal as he gets an opportunity to compete in another LAN tournament scheduled to take place from 15th to 19th June.

Degster to replace Mantuu on OG for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022

OG recently competed in GET Dubai with its revamped CS:GO roster featuring its two new riflers Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar and Maciej "F1KU" Miklas. It was a decent outing for the side as they secured a 3rd-4th place finish, walking away with $25,000 USD (INR 19,51,601) in prize money.

Unfortunately, their sniper operator mantuu has fallen sick after the trip and will not be able to travel with the team for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022. Missing out on this tournament will be quite gutting for the 24-year-old as it will be the first tier-one event for the side since IEM Katowice 2022.

As a last minute addition, the recently benched degster will be stepping in to fill the vacant spot, helping out OG with his fantastic AWPing skills that helped Team Spirit secure a 3rd-4th finish at the recently concluded PGL Antwerp Major 2022.

He was dropped from the roster for various reasons not related to his performance in the server. Acccording to Spirit, the two parties could not meet eye to eye on certain matters like the training process and the future of the team.

On the other hand, as per a public statement by degster the decision was taken by him due to not being able to meet Team Spirit's requirement of spending at least nine months every year in Serbia due to "certain personal matters".

Statement by Degster

This will certainly be a significant blow for OG, but they have got a promising player as a replacement, thanking both degster and Nikita Chukalin - CEO of Team Spirit, "for greatly facilitating this temporary loan".

It will be interesting to see how OG ends up performing at the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022, facing a revamped NAVI in its opening match of Group-B on 15th June at 20:30 IST.
