CS:GO Breaks the Record for both Average and Peak Concurrent Players

Just one day after breaking the all-time record for peak concurrent players, CS:GO has gone on to witness an increase in those numbers with the number of peak concurrent players reading 901,305 yesterday evening. Not only this, the game has gone on to break the record for the highest average concurrent players as well, with the latest numbers reading 507,668.8 which is a minor increase from its previous record of 503,719.6.

This is the first time in the history of the game that it has witnessed more than 900,000 concurrent players. Last time the game witnessed such a massive surge was back in April 2016 during the MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016.

CS:GO is going full steam ahead to probably make 2020 one of the best years for the FPS franchise. This could be due to a combination of things like the game becoming free-to-play in December 2018, followed by the release of the much-awaited Operation: Shattered Web, and the recently concluded BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Regular Season.

While other gaming titles like Dota 2 is seeing a decline in its userbase, the first-person shooter is flourishing like never before, creating new all-time records every few days.
