Vampire Esports from Thailand are the winners of PMWI 2022
The PUBG Mobile team from Thailand, Vampire Esports, was more than prepared for the PMWI 2022. They started out with a bang, securing a WWCD (winner winner chicken dinner) in the very first match to earn a record 39 points, the most points won by a team in a single match during the tournament.
This was followed by consistent gameplay as they kept collecting points for the next 14 matches, resulting in a bit of a slump on the second day where they slipped down to a fourth position on the leaderboards.
Despite not winning another match until the last day of the tournament, Vampire Esports kept its composure and fought hard, which reflected in the form of back-to-back victories during the 15th and 16th matches of the tournament.
At the end of all 18 matches, Vampire Esports stood on top with a total of 220 points, a difference of 23 points seprating them from the second-placed Team Falcons, who were the local invites from Saudi Arabia, the host country of PMWI 2022.
With this, Vampire Esports went on to lift the trophy at the Riyadh Boulevard and walked away with the lion's share of the two million dollar total prize pool, a massive $525,000 USD (INR 4,18,05,750).
Apart from this, they also managed to qualify for the PMWI 2022: Afterparty Showdown which is scheduled to take place next week from 18th to 20th August. The four other PUBG Mobile teams that have managed to qualify through the main event are Team Falcons, Stalwart Esports, Nigma Galaxy, and DAMWON Gaming.
