Kronten: Jonathan Was Offered a Chance to play PMWI With 7Sea Esports
BGMI Showdown winner 7Sea Esports approached Jonathan to play the upcoming PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022 with them.
Godlike Esports owner Chetan “Kronten” Chandgude has revealed that Jonathan was offered to play the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022 (PMWI 2022) tournament for 7Sea Esports. In a recent Instagram live, Kronten said that after the conclusion of BGMI Showdown 2022, 7Sea Esports approached Jonathan to play PMWI for them. However, Jonathan rejected the offer as he was concerned about the synergy issues since it is not something that can be built with a new team in a short span of time.
Jonathan rejected 7Sea Esports' offer due to synergy issues
In his livestream, Kronten stated that Jonathan felt that he did not have synergy and coordination with the 7Sea players. Hence, it would be bad for them if he didn’t perform in an event like PMWI 2022. It is not surprising to see Jonathan being approached by 7Sea Esports considering his recent form. In the recently concluded BGMI Masters Series 2022, Jonathan was crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament by getting 37 finishes in the grand finals. BGMI casters and analysts even gave the tag of ‘Universal MVP’, since they believe that Jonathan almost always becomes the most valuable player in any tournament he plays in.
Building synergy with a new team takes a lot of time. BGMI esports has witnessed many teams breaking down due to a lack of synergy between players. So Jonathan’s decision certainly makes sense from an outside perspective.
7Sea Esports recently won the BGMI Showdown 2022 and booked its slot for the PMWI Afterparty Showdown. The Showdown will begin on 18 August where twelve invited teams will fight out against each other to win the tournament. 7Sea Esports is going to be the second team from India after Team Soul. However, Team Soul’s entry into the Afterparty Showdown would only be possible if they keep themselves in the Top 5 at the end of the main event of the tournament.
Tanmay "Scout" Singh of TeamX Spark will play as a stand-in for 7Sea Esports in the Afterparty Showdown of PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022. The lineup for 7Sea Esports in PUBG Mobile World Invitational is Sarangajyoti “Sarang” Deka, Harsh “Spraygod” Malik, Tanmay “Scout” Singh, Dhruv “Madman” Gaur, and Taha “Aladin” Khamakar.
7Sea Esports would be hoping to extend its top-notch form from the BGMI Showdown to the upcoming PUBG Mobile World Invitational tournament.
