The Filipino organization TNC, known for its Dota 2 teams over the years, may expand into the esports scene of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang according to a report from the Manila Bulletin. According to Eric Redulfin, General Manager of TNC Group of Companies, the expansion will be based on a slot availability for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League - Philippines (MPL PH) Season 8. If the Filipino organization does make its way into the Mobile Legends esports scene it would be TNC's first venture into a mobile esports title.
TNC reportedly in talks with an MPL PH team
The Manila Bulletin reports that Redulfin and TNC are also negotiating with an MPL PH team. However, the name of this MPL PH team was not disclosed in it.
MPL PH Season 7 had culminated last month with Blacklist International defeating Execration in the grand finals. Following this, Tiebreaker Times had reported that MPL PH could switch into a franchise-based model for season 8. This event will consist of eight teams, each of which will pay a one-time franchise fee.
Those eight organizations could agree to augment this event to 10 teams in the future. At the time of writing this article, this development is yet to be confirmed.
So, TNC might be looking to enter the Mobile Legends scene as a ninth or the tenth team or by signing another team that is expected to be a part of it, as Redulfin mentioned in his statement.
Execration's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang player, Billy "Z4pnu" Alfonso recently announced in a vlog that his team could be acquired by another organization. According to the esports professional, the lineup will not change despite the potential buyout.
Currently, TNC only has a Dota 2 team, but in the past, it has fielded multiple rosters for Dota 2, Valve's flagship FPS CS:GO, and Riot Games' MOBA League of Legends.
