Spero talked about BGMI’s ban and the game’s return on his recent livestream.
The caster claimed that the government has restricted Krafton from revealing any details about the game, and all the leaks so far are not true.
He said he also believes that BGMI might not come back before December.

It has been over two months since the removal of BGMI from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Apart from the removal and the confirmation from MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) of the game being blocked in the country, there has been no official announcement from Krafton or the government. However, in the past couple of weeks, a few creators have claimed that the game will come before December, whereas others have claimed it will come after. In a recent livestream, Piyush “Spero” Bathla stated that he also believes that the game might not come before December.

Spero talks about BGMI's ban on his livestream

In a recent livestream, when his viewers asked him questions regarding BGMI’s comeback, Spero clarified that the game is ‘blocked’ and not ‘banned,’ and that there is a difference between the two terms. Following this, he said if the game was banned, players would not be able to play it like they are doing it now.

“The only good news is that BGMI is not banned yet; BGMI is only blocked. There is a difference between banning something and blocking something,” said Spero. He further added, “Banning means you can’t use it at all, like, the people that are still playing BGMI couldn’t be able to play it; all the servers would’ve shut down. But the game is blocked, which means the game can not be downloaded and is removed from Play Store and App Store.”

Following this, he stated that the BGMI servers are still working fine, and the game has only been restricted to sending data outside of India, and all the data should stay in the country.

“The servers are still working. The money and data that was being sent outside of India won’t go outside of India anymore and will stay in India. We all know RP purchases have already shut down,” said Spero.

Later, he stated that getting any leaks regarding the game is impossible, as the topic is strictly confidential. He further mentioned that the government had asked Krafton not to reveal anything regarding the game. He also claimed that all the leaks so far are false.

“On the topic of the game’s comeback, everyone is saying that they have leaks; I believe it’s impossible to get any leaks. Because it is a strictly confidential topic, the IT Act 2000, through which BGMI is blocked, is considered very confidential,” said Spero. He adds, “The Government of India has asked Krafton not to leak anything regarding the game. If anyone is giving you any leaks, then that leak is not true, in my opinion, because no one has any leaks.”

He also mentioned that many casters and players have tried to contact Krafton and question it regarding the game, but they did not receive any response.

“All the people, including us – all the casters and teams are quite close to Krafton – have asked Krafton about it, I’m damn sure about that, but we did not get any reply from them,” stated Spero.

Spero says BGMI might not come back before December

In response to previous rumors about the game not coming back before December, Spero said he also believes the same.

“Another thing going on in the community is the rumor that the game might not return before December; I’m also on that boat. I also think BGMI will not come before December. We will only get updates or news regarding the game in or after December. Let’s see what happens,” said Spero.

Since the ban of the game, BGMI is losing its hype. Many creators and players are now uncertain and are having second thoughts about the game. Rushindra Sinha, founder and CEO of Global Esports, recently said that he does not think the game will come back. On the other hand, the popular BGMI content creator, Sagar “Maxtern” Thakur has also quit BGMI.
