Highlights
BGMI was banned on 28th July 2022, and there is no announcement regarding the game yet.
Rushindra Sinha, the Founder and CEO of Global Esports, thinks the game might not come back.
However, he also asked his followers to maintain their composure and wait for the official news in a live stream.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was removed from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store on 28th July 2022, almost two months ago. However, apart from the initial acknowledgements of the removal, there has been no official announcement from Krafton or the government regarding the game since then. While many remain optimistic about the game’s return, it looks like a few stakeholders are beginning to lose hope. Rushindra Sinha, founder and CEO of Global Esports, recently tweeted that he believes that the game might not come back.

He later went on to post that he was just farming reactions with that Tweet but also expressed that he was genuinely concerned about whether the title would return.

Earlier in the day, Sinha posted a poll on his Twitter handle, asking people to predict how likely it is for BGMI to make a comeback to the Google Play Store and App Store. A majority of fans (over 50%) opted for "Given up - Moved On," so his recent tweet might just reflect their views.

Rushindra Sinha’s previous comments on the game’s return

On the contrary, in a livestream on 28th August 2022, Sinha said that the game will soon come back. However, he’s not sure how reliable the source is. He explained the situation by giving the example of the PUBG Mobile ban period, where everyone used to say that the game would re-release next week. However, BGMI was launched after nine months of PUBG Mobile's ban.

“According to an internal source, BGMI will return soon. But I don’t know how accurate that is, because when PUBG Mobile was banned for nine months, every week, someone used to say that the game would return next week,” said Sinha. Further, he added, “However, the game was finally released in July (2021), after getting banned in September (2020). On the other hand, BGMI was banned in July, and it’s been one month since then.”

BGMI is still unavailable on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. However, the game is still playable and all the servers are working. On the other hand, the game did not receive the latest 2.2 version update of the game, and the new battle pass season has already started on the 2.2 version.
