Sagar “Maxtern” Thakur is one of the most popular BGMI content creators in the Indian gaming industry. He started creating PUBG Mobile content on YouTube in 2018 and quickly rose to fame by the virtue of his funny content. However, following PUBG Mobile’s ban and launch of BGMI in July 2021, he decided to move to BGMI. The creator recently stated that he is quitting BGMI forever and that he would “change his content completely” from 1st October 2022 onwards.

Maxtern started his YouTube journey with PUBG Mobile but was already popular in the gaming community for competing in Mini Militia - Doodle Army 2 against popular creators like Naman “Mortal” Mathur, Aniket “KingAnBru” Sood, and more. However, he quit Mini Militia in April 2017 and created a YouTube channel in September 2017.

Maxtern to quit BGMI forever

On 27th October, the popular content creator posted a community post on Youtube stating that he has decided to leave BGMI forever. The announcement stunned the BGMI community as it came out of nowhere. He further stated that he has been thinking of quitting the game for the last two years, but never got the courage to act on it. Showing gratitude, he further mentioned that PUBG Mobile is the reason behind his success and the game made him a better person in every aspect. He continues by saying that quitting BGMI is one of the riskiest decisions he has made in his life and mentioned that he is bored of the game. Following this, he said that he will change his content completely from 1st October 2022 onwards.

“IMPORTANT

Hey Everyone, I have decided to quit BGMI forever.

I have been thinking about doing it for the last 2 years but never got the courage.

PUBG Mobile is the reason I am who I am,

This game made me a better person in every aspect.

I am gonna take the biggest risk of my life,

or I should say, I am bored of BGMI(so are you?)

From Oct 1st, 2022, I will change my content completely.

Thank You.

Regards,

Maxtern.”

As the fans refused to believe his statement, he clarified on Twitter that he was not joking and did the same with Mini Militia. Further, he said that even though his career might get unsteady, he can say that he tried.

“It’s (his decision of quitting BGMI) not a Joke, I did the same thing with Mini Militia and everyone was laughing and calling it a bad decision.

Believe me, failing without trying is a shame.

Whether my career goes up or down, at least I can say “ I tried!”

Although the block was induced two months ago, Krafton has not yet revealed the current state of BGMI. Recently, MeitY confirmed that the game was Blocked Under Section 69A of the IT Act 2000. Furthermore, Rushindra Sinha, founder and CEO of Global Esports, said that he believes that the game might not come back.
